French Flicks

My wife and I have have been watching a lot of French movies from Netflix lately and I would like to recommend a few of them.

City of Lost Children

Cité des enfants perdus, La

Described on IMDb as “a dark beautiful fairy tale” where “a scientist in a surrealist society kidnaps children to steal their dreams.”  This is possibly the strangest movie I have ever seen.

Amelie

Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Le

“Amelie, an innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love” -IMDb

All three movies are co-directed and co-written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and they have others cast and crew in common as well.
