Good Christian Music
Last night, Bebo Norman played a concert at my church, Mars Hill. I am pretty involved in events like this at my church. When we have bigger shows, I am usually the runner. So I get to drive people around in a rented mini-van. It’s a fun job because I get to spend time with and get to know the artists when we have concerts. I usually just drive people from the hotels to the church or take them out to lunch, take them to the store if they need anything and stuff like that.
I don’t listen to a lot of Christian music because it seems like most of it, or at least the stuff that you hear about, is shallow, unoriginal and pretty low-quality. With that in mind, I was very impressed with Bebo Norman. First of all, from the time I spent with him, he just seems like a very genuine guy and his music speaks the same. It’s tough to come by Christian music that is honest and open about living in a world tainted with sin.
This is the point where I was going to quote some lyrics of his but I can’t remember what I was going to quote so you’ll just have to trust me. Anyway, it was good to see some very talented artists and musicians in the Christian music industry instead of just praise and worship cover bands.
